The North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) exists to uphold superior product quality standards and promote the growth of the laminate flooring industry. Membership Categories
A laminate flooring manufacturer, importer, marketer, or distributor that owns and markets its own brand of laminate flooring. Regular Manufacturing Members must control the brand specifications or performance and support the brand’s warranty, regardless of whether production is outsourced. Members must maintain a corporate headquarters or laminate flooring manufacturing facility of record in North America. This membership has voting rights and is eligible to hold a seat on the Board of Directors.
Regular Manufacturing Members may include additional brand names, labels, or corporate affiliates under the membership. Each additional brand or label is subject to an additional membership fee, which allows that brand to pursue certification and license NALFA’s certification marks.
Membership Details
Annual Dues: $20,000
Annual Dues Per Additional Brand: $6,500
Regular Manufacturing Members are the core of NALFA. Membership includes certification licensing, full governance rights, and the ability to add additional brands under membership. With a seat at the table, Regular Manufacturing Members play an active role in shaping laminate flooring standards while gaining visibility and credibility through NALFA product certification.
Membership Includes:
- Product Certification: Annual membership covers the $20,000 licensing fee for use of NALFA’s certification and logos for your approved laminate flooring products. Certified products gain visibility as NALFA expands education to retail sales associates, architects and designers, and consumers.
- Brand Coverage: Membership applies to your primary brand. Additional brands or labels may be included for an additional fee, providing full certification and logo use rights across your product collections.
- Governance & Leadership: Full voting rights, eligibility to hold a Board seat, and participation in committee work.
- Industry Data Access: Ability to contribute company data to NALFA’s industry data program and receive quarterly industry reports.
- Organization-Wide Benefits: Unlimited access for your full team to NALFA’s resource library, technical materials, and member programs.
- Industry Leadership: Recognition as a leader in quality standards, certification, and advancing the laminate flooring industry.
A laminate flooring manufacturer, importer, marketer, or distributor that creates and markets its own brand and controls manufacturing specifications, performance, or supports the brand’s warranty. This category of membership does not include large retail chains and home improvement centers. The Global Manufacturing Member does not maintain a corporate headquarters or laminate flooring manufacturing facility of record in North America. This membership does not have voting rights.
Global Manufacturing Members may include additional brand names, labels, or corporate affiliates under the membership. Each additional brand or label is subject to an additional membership fee, which allows that brand to pursue certification and license NALFA’s certification marks.

Global Membership gain the credibility of NALFA product certification while strengthening their presence in the North American marketplace. With access to committees, industry data, team resources, and direct engagement with North American manufacturers and suppliers, Global Members position themselves as leaders committed to quality and innovation.

Certified products gain visibility as NALFA expands education to retail sales associates, architects and designers, and consumers.

- Governance & Leadership: Participation in NALFA committees and working groups, with full opportunity to contribute to industry discussions. This membership does not include voting rights.
- Industry Data Access: Ability to submit North American sales data into NALFA’s industry data program and receive quarterly industry reports.
- Organization-Wide Benefits: Unlimited access for your full team to NALFA’s resource library, technical materials, and member programs.
- Global Recognition: Visibility as a certified leader in laminate flooring, with the ability to demonstrate compliance with NALFA standards in the North American market.
A corporation, limited liability company, partnership, or proprietorship operating in North America that sells laminate flooring accessories, such as underlayment, trim, or moldings, to consumers or to businesses eligible for Regular Manufacturing Membership. Associate Members are not eligible for Regular Manufacturing Membership. This membership does not have voting rights and is not eligible to hold a Board seat.

Annual Dues: $10,000
Associate Members complete the laminate flooring story by delivering critical accessory products like underlayment, trim, and moldings. With the ability to certify products under NALFA standards, Associates gain credibility and visibility as NALFA invests in educating retailers, designers, and consumers on certification. Membership also provides direct access to leading laminate manufacturers, industry data, and participation in committees and meetings that influence the industry’s future.
Membership includes:
- Product Certification: Eligible to certify accessory products under applicable NALFA product standards. Members may submit multiple product lines for certification, provided each product meets NALFA requirements and approval criteria.
- Direct Access to Manufacturers: Build relationships with NALFA members and align your certified products with leading laminate brands.
- Industry Data Access: Access to NALFA’s quarterly industry reports (no data submission required).
- Organization-Wide Benefits: Unlimited access for your full team to NALFA’s resource library, technical materials, and member programs.
- Committee Participation: Opportunity to serve on committees and contribute to NALFA initiatives.
- Industry Recognition: Visibility as a trusted supplier to the laminate flooring industry.
A corporation, limited liability company, partnership, or proprietorship operating in North America that sells goods, raw materials, or equipment to laminate flooring manufacturers. Supplier Members are not eligible for Regular Manufacturing or Associate Membership. This membership does not have voting rights and is not eligible to hold a Board seat.

Entities organized or operating in North America that sell, distribute, or represent multiple independent laminate flooring brands or that operate as buying groups, marketing groups, or cooperatives serving the flooring industry. Distribution & Buying Group Members may not own or warranty a laminate flooring brand and are not eligible for product certification. This membership does not have voting rights and is not eligible to hold a Board seat.

- Tier 1: $2,000 - Regional or small distributor (sales under $25 million)
- Tier 2: $4,000 - Mid-size group or distributor (sales $25–100 million)
- Tier 3: $6,000 - National or large-scale organization (sales over $100 million)
Distribution & Buying Group Members are key partners in the laminate flooring supply chain, connecting manufacturers, retailers, and service providers. By joining NALFA, distributors and industry groups gain access to exclusive industry data, unlimited resources, and the opportunity to participate in meetings and committees that shape the direction of the industry. Membership provides visibility, credibility, and connection across the entire laminate flooring network.
Membership includes:
- Direct Access to Manufacturers: Build relationships with NALFA members and gain visibility with the brands you distribute.
- Industry Data Access: Receive quarterly industry reports to better understand market trends and customer needs (no data submission required).

Annual Dues (Physical Locations + E-Commerce):
- Tier 1: $500 – Independent retailer (1–5 locations)
- Tier 2: $2,500 – Regional retailer (6–25 locations)
- Tier 3: $7,500 - National retailer (26+ locations)
Annual Dues (E-Commerce only Retailers):
- Tier 1: $500. Sales dollars under $25 million
- Tier 2: $2,500. Sales dollars $25-100 million
- Tier 3: $7,500. Sales dollars over $100 million
Retailer Members connect laminate flooring directly to consumers, builders, and specifiers. Membership provides credibility through NALFA affiliation, training resources for sales associates, and marketing support to strengthen showrooms and customer outreach. With affordable dues, access to industry data, and opportunities to provide retailer and service provider input into how laminate is promoted against competing flooring categories, Retailer Members gain tools and connections to grow their businesses and the broader laminate flooring market.
Membership includes:
- Industry Voice: Opportunities to provide retailer and service provider input into strategies and initiatives that grow consumer demand for laminate flooring.
- Consumer Trust: Use of NALFA affiliation to demonstrate credibility and commitment to quality products.

Individuals or small groups with a professional or educational interest in the laminate flooring industry. This includes, but is not limited to, retail sales associates, architects and designers, contractors, real estate professionals, inspectors, laboratories, and educators. Affiliate Members are advocates for the laminate flooring category and support NALFA’s mission to promote quality, education, and innovation across the industry. Affiliate Members may participate in NALFA committees and working groups. Affiliate Membership is available only to individuals from organizations that do not qualify for membership under any other membership category. This membership does not include voting rights and is not eligible to hold a Board seat.

Annual Dues:
- Tier 1: $250 – Individual (one person)
- Tier 2: $500 – Small group (2–5 individuals from the same organization)
- Tier 3: $1,000 – Expanded group (6–10 individuals from the same organization)
- Tier 4: $2,500 – Institutional cap (11 or more individuals from the same organization)
