Become a NALFA Recognized Inspector
The North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) sets the standard for professionalism and expertise in laminate flooring inspections. Becoming a NALFA Recognized Inspector connects you to a respected network of flooring professionals, equips you with exclusive resources, and demonstrates your commitment to excellence.
Maintaining Your Recognition
All NALFA Recognized Inspectors must meet the following annual requirements to remain in good standing and continue using the NALFA name, logo, and publications, as well as to be listed on the NALFA website:
- Confirm current good standing with your primary certification program.
- Verify your contact information for the NALFA Inspector Locator database.
- Review and re-sign the NALFA Code of Conduct.
- Pay annual NALFA dues.
(Inspectors are invoiced at year-end. Listings may be removed after April 15 if dues remain unpaid following one collection attempt.)
Continuing Education
To ensure inspectors remain current with industry standards, all NALFA Recognized Inspectors are required to complete continuing education at least once every three years:
- Attend the NALFA Recognized Inspector Program or another NALFA-approved floor inspector/continuing education class.
- Maintain active primary certification with a recognized program (e.g., NWFA, IFCII, ITS).
Lapsed Recognition
If your NALFA Recognition has lapsed, you may re-apply by:
- Submitting proof of current good standing credentials from a recognized floor inspector program.
- Paying NALFA reinstatement dues:
- Lapsed less than 2 years: Pay 2x dues assessment to renew recognition and confirm Code of Conduct.
- Lapsed more than 2 years: Re-attend the NALFA Recognized Inspector Program and pay dues for reinstatement.
